With your support, we can equip the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH)'s world-class surgeons with cutting-edge technology to perform complex hip and knee procedures with greater precision, fewer complications, faster recovery and better outcomes for more patients.

Introducing the Mako 4.0

The Mako 4.0 is the latest advance in robot-assisted surgery, designed to enhance precision, efficiency and outcomes across a range of orthopaedic procedures.

The complex nature of the referrals received at RNOH, a specialist hospital, means that advanced planning and execution tools such as robotics are vitally important for delivering the highest possible standards of care.

RNOH has successfully utilised a previous-generation Mako system for over five years, demonstrating the transformative impact of robotic surgery on patient outcomes, surgical precision, and research innovation. The hospital now requires an additional and new-generation robot-assisted surgical arm to be able to treat more patients, reduce waiting times and perform more complex surgeries.

By introducing the Mako 4.0 at RNOH we will be able to:

"Your support will fuel innovation, helping us pioneer new techniques and keep RNOH at the forefront of surgical excellence. The hospital cannot fund enough advanced equipment within the confines of an NHS budget so charitable support is the only way to bring the new Mako to more patients. Together, we can make sure everyone, regardless of their means, benefits from the very best care.”
